This is true for anyone in business – tradesmen, partnerships, professional practices, and small employers.
How Do You Search?
However, the hard truth is that your website is of little use for generating new calls if it can’t be found. And in this role ‘can’t be found’ means ‘not on page 1 of Google’!
To appreciate this, you only need to consider your own searching habits. Which page do you generally rely on? How often do you really trawl down pages 2, 3, and possibly 4?
Not very often I hope.
Google Page 1 Makes The Difference
One of my longer-term clients runs his business in the centre of Leeds. He has a huge amount of competition. From the outset, he always said that to be effective he must be on page 1 of Google. Getting his business listed on page 1 didn’t happen over night but once he was there it was transformed!
Most people or businesses do not have anything like the competition he has but the message is the same. Get your site listed on page 1 of Google and the enquiries will follow.
