Fast Mobile Phone Landing Page
Current research suggests that here in the UK 60% of searchers visiting Google use their mobile phone first!
When they/we do, they are generally looking for the most basic of information, in a simple format, that loads quickly, and provides essential links to more detailed information.
As you might appreciate this raises quite a number of questions for business website owners:
- How fast is our site on mobile phones?
- Are we getting our share of visitors who are using their phones?
- If we are not, what are our options?
Designed For Mobile Phone
Unfortunately, most websites are created with desktop devices in mind using a responsive approach so that they will load on a mobile device too – albeit often rather slowly. The other issue with this approach is that a mobile phone searcher is generally not looking for finite detail. They just want to see key information with some optional links they can use if needed.
If you have searched on a mobile phone, you probably know what I’m talking about.
Fast Loading Page With Essential Information Only
One simple solution I have created for my website clients is a fast mobile phone landing page. In essence it has all the very basic information and links a searcher might need in their initial search. It is fast loading and is designed specifically for a mobile phone.
Being fast loading and offering specific information, Google likes it too – particularly on local search. Although I cannot guarantee a number 1 slot, I am confident that a newly created mobile landing page will move on to page 1 reasonably quickly – competition accepted.
